Which is it? Either Magic Johnson, the face of the Dodgers, is clueless on how the organization will be run ... Or he knew he wasn't telling the truth when he became the dominating voice of last week's news conference and told the media enough already with the questions about Frank McCourt. We can all understand "enough already with Frank McCourt," but the Guggenheim folks should have taken that into consideration when they bought the Dodgers. Now they have some explaining to do. But so far for Magic, it's been one turnover after the next.

It was not just the common fans who grew disenchanted with Frank McCourt's ownership of the Dodgers. So did Jackie Robinson's widow, Rachel. Robinson was at Monday's game, the first home game under the Dodgers' new ownership, at the invitation of Magic Johnson to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. “First of all, I'm thrilled with the fact we have new ownership and we have a chance to revitalize the franchise in terms of the organization, the team, the fans,” she said.

As the Dodgers celebrated their first home game under new ownership Monday, the widow of perhaps the most memorable player in franchise history said she was "thrilled" the Frank McCourt era had ended. Rachel Robinson, the widow of Jackie Robinson, joined Hall of Famer Don Newcombe and new Dodgers part owner Magic Johnson for the ceremonial first pitch. Johnson later yelled to the crowd, "It's time for Dodger baseball!" Rachel Robinson turns 90 in July. She lives in New York and oversees the Jackie Robinson Foundation, which is expected to form a partnership with the new Dodgers ownership.

David Kipen had a modest proposal on the Op-Ed page Wednesday: Take public transportation to the next Dodgers home game, deprive the ball club (and especially the once and still somewhat invested Frank McCourt) of your parking dollars and send a message:  We're Dodger fans and we're not going to take it anymore. And by "it" he meant any more misrule of the boys in blue.  Oh and by the way, it would be so much greener. "How dense are people these days," asked "uncgirl37" at about 5 p.m.,  along with a few other commenters who had tuned in to the new owners' 10 a.m.  televised news conference.

This is how it largely worked for Ned Colletti in recent years: Frank McCourt would give him a number, and then expect the general manager to bring in the team payroll at or under that figure. So maybe he loses a Hiroki Kuroda because he costs a tad too much, and then tries to make up for it by signing Aaron Harang and Chris Capuano. Those payroll juggling days, however, may be over for Colletti. At least in the fashion he's grown accustomed to. New team President Stan Kasten said Wednesday that's not the way he operates.

As a shock to absolutely no one, Matt Kemp was selected Wednesday the National League player of the month for April. It was either that, or just retire the award. That clearly was never a danger since Kemp was a unanimous selection. He was twice the player of the week in April. Kemp finished the month leading the majors in batting average (.417) and home runs (12), and the NL in runs batted in (25), hits (35), runs (24) and slugging percentage (.893), and was second in on-base percentage (.490)

As Frank McCourt could tell you, at Dodgers Now, I'm here to help. Just a constant flow of upbeat suggestions. Been sending positive energy to the Dodgers long before McCourt discovered any Russian psychic. And because today is the big debut of the Dodgers' new ownership group , I thought it was only fair to offer a few suggestions on how to handle their morning news conference. Here is the No. 1 message: Be forthcoming. Simple, I know, but it's amazing how many mess this one up. Be honest, don't hide behind legal this or privacy that.

DENVER -- Juan Uribe could land on the disabled list with a wrist injury, Manager Don Mattingly said. “We should know a lot by tomorrow,” Mattingly said. The Dodgers have day off on Thursday before they start a three-game series in Chicago against the Cubs. Mattingly said he doesn't want to play short-handed for long. Uribe re-injured his left wrist in batting practice on Tuesday. A related injury cost him five games earlier this month. Uribe said his wrist felt worse on Tuesday than it did earlier this month.

So you thought maybe they didn't get it, huh? That Magic Johnson sitting next to Frank McCourt at the season opener signaled he had lived in Los Angeles and somehow missed all the animosity that had built up against McCourt. Then there was the money quote from Wednesday's new ownership news conference. Growing frustrated at repeated questions about McCourt's continued involvement in the parking lots - they claim he has none unless there is future development - Johnson finally said this: “Let's move forward, please,” Johnson said.

My cousin Jimmy didn't use his Dodgers season tickets all last year. He's an L.A. kid, runs the Mar Vista hardware store my Uncle Dick founded, and he loves the Dodgers so much that he has two sun-faded Dodger Stadium seats bolted to the floor of his living room. These face the television, which is not what anybody would call small. Jimmy has watched his Dodger games on that TV ever since the McCourt money scandals broke. He refuses to set foot in the stadium until it's safely out of Bostonian hands.
