The grand and storied Canfield-Moreno estate in Silver Lake proved the perfect setting for the Wednesday night post-premiere party of director Tim Burton's spooky fairy tale "Sleepy Hollow." The 4 1/2-acre hilltop estate, now called the Paramour, was built in 1923 by Charles Canfield as a wedding present to his daughter Daisy and silent film star Antonio Moreno. Daisy died in a car wreck in 1933 and the house was turned into a school for girls run by Franciscan nuns.

CBS' revised Friday and Saturday lineups each introducing a pair of new dramas to go with one returning show--both got off to impressive starts as the new TV season gradually rolls out. The debut of "The District," starring Craig T. Nelson, attracted an estimated 14.4 million viewers Saturday to top all programs that night. My character is more fun to play than Jon's because it's more open. I'm out there, and the range of emotions is all over the place. A character like Jon's is more difficult because it's more contained. The same goes for Gabriel Byrne. I hope Jon has an enjoyable time, but I'm not going to say that I hope he wins."
