Reece is giving it up for the next two years, during which time she will devote herself to a reclusive life of swings, chips and putts.

Jeremy Piven, left, Adrian Grenier and Kevin Connolly looked like the new-millennium Rat Pack at the April 5 season premiere at the Cinerama Dome of HBO's "Entourage," that show about a hot young Hollywood hunk and his posse living the life in El Lay. All the rooms in Brent Bolthouse's bash in Ivar Studio were decorated to suit the characters' personalities. A pool table and simulated driving range for Eric (Connolly). Dancers in silver lame bikinis for Turtle, played by Jerry Ferrara.

The ongoing California Beach Bash '99 has plenty for the sun set: a pro volleyball tournament, contests for skateboarders and bicycle stunt riders, and live music. It also has super-babe Gabrielle Reece. Reece, at 6 feet, 3 inches, isn't hard to spot. She has appeared on the covers of Elle, Harper's Bazaar, and other magazines. She's also a top professional volleyball player, having been a regular on the tour for a few years.

From his aluminum chair, he roars about the stupidity and improbity of his fellow athletes, top players whom he blames for the rotten state of professional beach volleyball. "I want to find the truth," he declares. "One way is to depose people." It's the second day of a three-day volleyball tournament in Seal Beach in July featuring the most famous male players in the country.

The Beach Volleyball America women's professional beach volleyball tour announced its inaugural schedule for the 2000 season Wednesday. It will consist of seven tournaments, all in California, starting in mid-May and running through late August. Teams will compete for a total of $525,000 in prize money. Holly McPeak, Misty May, Gabrielle Reece, Annett Davis, Jenny Johnson-Jordan, Liz Masakayan and Elaine Youngs are among the players expected to compete.
