A 24-year-old Santa Ana man died Monday of injuries suffered when he was run over by five cars in a Garden Grove intersection nine days ago, authorities said. Garden Grove Police Lt. Ken Whitman said Tommy Prieto Rocha died at 7:32 a.m. Monday at UCI Medical Center, where he was being treated in the intensive care unit. Whitman said Rocha was not in a crosswalk on Nov. 14 when he ran across the intersection of Buena Street and Westminster Avenue at 10:50 p.m.

A 4-year-old boy remained in critical condition today after being struck by a car in Garden Grove, police said. Jose Roberto Valladares remained hospitalized in the pediatric intensive care unit at UCI Medical Center in Orange, hospital spokeswoman Fran Tardiff said. Jose was playing in the front yard of his house in the 12000 block of Buaro Street at 5:30 p.m. Thursday when he dashed out into the street, Garden Grove police Lt. Kenneth Adair said.

A Garden Grove man was arrested Tuesday in Santa Ana after a chase by Garden Grove police, who had been seeking him all night on suspicion of armed robbery and assault, police said. David J. Henson, 32, was captured at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Memory Lane and Bristol Street, Garden Grove Police Lt. Ken Whitman said. Whitman said police had been searching for a man who had assaulted a woman in her Garden Grove apartment near Laurel Street and Trask Avenue about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

A Costa Mesa man died late Saturday afternoon at UCI Medical Center in Orange after being injured in a traffic accident at Harbor Boulevard and Lampson Avenue, a county coroner's office spokesman said. The victim was identified as 47-year-old Chester C. Krankewicz. Garden Grove police said details on the cause of the accident were not immediately available.
