A Hollister woman charged with two counts of bigamy may be implicated in at least three and possibly five additional bigamous marriages, San Benito County Dist. Atty. Harry Damkar said. Kindred Felisa Perkins is free on $3,000 bail after arraignment on two counts each of bigamy, marrying under an assumed identity and misrepresentation of identity. The charges, Damkar said, arise from marriages in San Benito County to Jesus Villagomez and Efren Barbosa.

Two Hollister area cattlemen who lost a court bid to stop foxhounds from trespassing on their ranch later rendered frontier justice by shooting the dogs. But Harold and Don Bayly had the state Food and Agriculture Code on their side when they killed seven trained foxhounds from the Los Altos Hunt Club and wounded another, said San Benito County Dist. Atty. Harry Damkar.

A 17-year-old high school wrestler will be charged with the rape and murder of a schoolmate, according to San Benito County Dist. Atty. Harry Damkar. He announced Friday that the teen-ager, whom he did not name, will be charged with the July 26 kidnaping, rape, robbery and first-degree murder of 16-year-old Lisa Koehler.

Raul Zamudio finally was turning his life around after a failed job and a divorce. At 41, he found steady work as a counselor at a Santa Clara County Probation Department boys' ranch, and he bought a new car and a house in a nice neighborhood here. But in May, all that came to an end when Hollister police arrested him in the Easter weekend rape and murder of Martha De La Rosa, a well-liked and hard-working 22-year-old college student.

On the day she was to enter a hospital to deliver her third child, Roseann Jaurigue was elsewhere partying on cocaine and alcohol, according to police. Two days later, when she made it to the hospital, her daughter was stillborn. Ordinarily, the story might have ended with the tragic May, 1991, death of the child and the mother's anguish.

In this mission town rich with California lore and tales of old-time gunfights, some people are taking their ties to the Wild West a little too seriously. In the last year, local politics have taken on the look of a barroom brawl. Three City Council members have been ousted in a recall. The San Benito County district attorney recently won a conviction of the town's police chief, and plans to prosecute the city engineer next month.
