Health maintenance organization PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. said Wednesday it was closing its managed-health-care unit in Ohio and Kentucky, where it has more than 60,000 customers, to concentrate on operations in the Western states. The pullout is expected to result in a charge of $3 million to $4 million, or 5 to 6 cents a share, in the second quarter to cover severance and costs for surrendering its licenses, PacifiCare said.
