Hexcel Inc., a maker of reinforced fabrics for the aircraft and automotive industries, said Tuesday that it will gradually close its Anaheim plant over the next two years and lay off 156 workers. Hexcel said it will combine its U.S. Materials facility in Anaheim, which makes composites and reinforced fabrics for aircraft and defense industries, into three other plants in California and plants in Arizona and Texas by the end of 1997.

A county factory worker who was injured one year ago in an explosion has sued the managers of the Brea rubber factory where he worked, asserting that they failed to warn their employees adequately about proper work safeguards. Luis Alberto Tinoco said in a civil suit filed Tuesday in Superior Court in Santa Ana that he suffered unspecified and permanent injuries in an Oct. 19, 1987, chemical explosion at the Kirkhill Rubber Plant.
