Are free cars the new coffeemaker? I've written about hotel offers that come with these "amenities": a free rental of a Tesla roadster or a new BMW . Now the London West Hollywood woos guests with a convertible Mustang to use during a stay at the hotel -- for free. The deal: This package has a provocative name: Topless in L.A. , which of course refers to the convertible not whatever else you were thinking. The offer comes with use of a Mustang convertible for up to 150 miles a day for each day of the stay, overnight parking (that's for your car, not the rental)

Aston Hotels & Resorts have kicked off a sale at some of their Hawaii hotels, with room rates ranging from $79 to $159 a night on four islands. This deal, especially if paired with an affordable flight, works for a summer or winter vacation. [ For the Record at 1:50 p.m. July 18 : An earlier version of this post erroneously said the Aston Waikiki Beachside Hotel on Oahu charges a $10 resort fee; the hotel does not charge a resort fee. However, selected Aston Hotels & Resorts in this promotion do charge a resort fee.]

New in town? I hardly ever am when I visit San Francisco, a place I return to over and over again. So I'm always in pursuit of something new to see and do in this oh-so-familiar city. Here are some itineraries that offer a fresh perspective -- and 49% savings on a third night's hotel stay when you use an American Express card. The itineraries: The 49 Hours of SF itineraries work for first-timers as well as returning visitors. You can choose Gertrude Stein's 49 Hours or the Bohemian's 49 Hours , or you can mix and match, which is what I did.  By scanning several tours, I learned about the Wave Organ musical sculpture on a jetty in the bay, a zigzag bike route called the Wiggle and the indoor House of Air trampoline park in the Presidio -- all things I've never seen or done.

Do yourself a favor and save time scouring the Web for flight and hotel packages. Name: WaySavvy.com What it does: Searches the Internet for the best flight and hotel deals based on your departure point, destination and dates. Then it displays three options: WaySavvy's choice, the cheapest choice and the swankiest choice. What's hot: It speeds up booking by reducing distractions. Instead of seeing page after page of hotel choices, ratings, photos and more, you see a limited selection.

Plan next year's weekend getaways now with a sale on thousands of hotels worldwide in the Hilton Hotels' portfolio, which includes Hilton, Doubletree, Waldorf Astoria, Hampton Inn, Embassy Suites and more. That’s why I like this deal: You can opt for a high-end retreat at a Waldorf Astoria or stick to a budget stay at Homewood Suites.

Finding a room for $250 a night ? the average rate for a hotel room in New York City ? isn't easy. Once upon a time, you could get a discount by walking in or calling the hotel directly. Now getting a deal is a whole new ballgame, thanks to the Internet. Room rates in New York peak in November and December, then dip in January and February, the best time to bag a bargain. For instance, a superior king at the stylish new Strand Hotel on West 37th Street is priced at $385 in early December and $215 in mid-January.

In Yosemite National Park , summer crowds have long dissipated. And now is good time to think about visiting the California park, where you'll find bargain room rates this month and in December in Yosemite Valley and nearby. Sure, it may get nippy, but the scenery is gorgeous and the atmosphere is peaceful. The deal: Live it up at the venerable Ahwahnee , a AAA four-diamond hotel, where nightly room rates in December drop as low as $199 per night from as high as $469 in the high season.
