After Apple unveiled the new look of its iOS 7 mobile operating system earlier this month, many in the design world criticized the platform. But a series of online polls this week show many users like the icons featured in the upcoming operating system more than those in iOS 6. The polling service Polar is hosting a series of polls comparing icons on iOS 6 with their iOS 7 counterparts. In most of the polls, users are choosing the new operating system, and when votes from all of the polls are added up together, more go for iOS 7. Out of the 289,000 votes cast so far, 66% favor iOS 7 icons, according to Polar.

Clutch.io, an iOS app A/B testing company, announced that it's been acquired by Twitter. The company, which launched in November, according to its Twitter account, said it was joining Twitter, early Monday. "We are incredibly excited to announce that we've joined the flock at Twitter!" the company said in a blog post . "Twitter has acquired the IP of Clutch.io and today is our first day with the company. " Clutch.io describes itself as "an easy to integrate library for native iOS applications designed to help you develop faster and deploy instantly.

Sync Notes Not only does iOS 6 bring a bevy of new features, but it also activates a bunch of features on Mountain Lion, the operating system for Mac computers. Apple's iOS 6 is now live and ready for download. The update of the mobile operating system became available on the West Coast at 10 a.m. Users who want to download it can do so by connecting a supported Apple device to their computers and launching iTunes. Or they can download it wirelessly by going to the Settings app, clicking "General" and clicking "Software Update. " Usually, iOS updates take a couple of minutes, but it can take as much as a half hour. Apple on Thursday released an update for iOS 7 to fix bugs that potentially let users bypass the phone's lock screen. The problems emerged not long after Apple made the radically redesigned version of its mobile operating system available for download last week. The bugs let people who could get their hands on a phone go around the lock screen without using the four-digit security code. Once inside the phone, a person could access photos, some recently used apps, and in some cases make calls.
