Deena Drossin, winner of the women's 10,000 meters in the U.S. Olympic track and field trials last summer, will be inducted into the New York Jewish Sports Hall of Fame on March 25. Drossin, a 1991 graduate of Agoura High, set a meet record of 31:51.05 in the 10,000 at the trials and placed second in the 5,000. BASEBALL * Cal State Northridge postponed its game against Washington State on Friday because of rain and has rescheduled it as part of a doubleheader at 11 a.m. today.

Former Simi Valley High and Fresno State pitcher Jeff Weaver, the 14th overall pick in the June draft, was promoted to the Class-A West Michigan Whitecaps by the Detroit Tigers on Friday. Weaver was 1-0 with a 1.50 earned-run average and had struck out 12 batters in 12 innings for the Jamestown Jammers of the short-season New York-Penn League.
