Key: Jacksonville's David Garrard led a game-winning drive for the second week in a row, throwing a touchdown pass to Mike Sims-Walker with 56 seconds remaining. The Jaguars have their first three-game winning streak in nearly two years. Jaguars said: "When I walk into that huddle, you can see it in everybody's eyes. Nobody has that glassy-eyed look. Everybody's focused and ready to roll." -- Garrard Bills said: "All for nothing when you don't get the win. I'm glad for the opportunity to make big plays, what I've always wanted to do. We came up short."

What looked like a routine NFL play wound up leaving a life-altering mark on former Jacksonville linebacker Russell Allen. Allen, 27, who was released by the Jaguars last week, is finished with football. He suffered a stroke on the field in a Week 15 game against Buffalo last season, something he recently revealed to Robert Klemko of TheMMQB.com . He was released after failing a physical. Allen developed a dime-sized dead spot on his cerebellum after a face-to-face collision in the first half with Bills center Eric Wood -- what seemed like a hard but typical hit. "It was strange because it was so routine," Allen told Klemko.

Jaguar put months of rumors and speculation to rest Tuesday, confirming at the Geneva Motor Show that it is indeed developing an all-new compact sedan called the XE. The rear-wheel-drive sports sedan will target the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, Cadillac ATS, Lexus IS and Infiniti Q50. Tim Tebow is still a member of the New York Jets, but the NFL trade deadline is still more than 24 hours away. That gives the Jets plenty of time to move their popular yet little-used backup quarterback if they so choose. It also leaves plenty of time for a multitude of rumors to swirl. Like the one that popped up Tuesday on Action News Jacksonville, which reported that the Jaguars were talking to the Jets about trading for Tebow. Such a move would make sense, the report said, because Jaguars owner Shad Khan has publicly said he would have drafted the former Florida quarterback and General Manager Gene Smith attempted to acquire him from the Denver Broncos during the off-season.

NASHVILLE -- The Tennessee Titans are just as stingy on defense as they were a year ago. Just ask Jacksonville and David Garrard. The Titans sacked Garrard seven times and Cortland Finnegan intercepted him twice in beating the Jaguars, 17-10, in the season opener between the AFC's two wild cards in 2007. Jacksonville came in without top backup Richard Collier on the offensive line after he was shot last week. The Jaguars had three more linemen get hurt, and Maurice Williams and left guard Vince Manuwai did not return.

Mark Brunell's side ached. Fred Taylor's legs cramped. Neither did much in the second half except watch from the sideline. Against the Cincinnati Bengals, one painful half was more than enough. Taylor, playing for the first time in four weeks because of a hamstring injury, rushed for 126 yards in the first half as the Jaguars rolled to a 41-10 victory Sunday.

A conservation group filed suit in federal court demanding that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service designate critical habitat and create a recovery plan for endangered American jaguars. Although the government listed the jaguar as an endangered species in 1997, it did not initiate recovery planning or designate critical habitat, according to the Center for Biological Diversity, which filed the suit in Tucson.

An MRI test on Friday confirmed that Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, leaving the AFC North leaders without another star player on defense. The All-Pro lineman got the leg bent under him while trying to make a tackle during the first half of a 22-20 overtime loss at Miami on Thursday night. The medical staff initially thought he'd torn the ligament, and the test a day later in Cincinnati confirmed it. The Bengals (6-3)

Welcome back to Seattle, Gus Bradley! Your Jacksonville Jaguars are 191/2-point underdogs! What kind of homecoming is that? The 0-2 Jaguars, unquestionably the NFL's worst team, are heading into the wood chipper that is the Seattle Seahawks, a team fresh off a 29-3 thrashing of mighty San Francisco. Las Vegas clearly doesn't think Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll is going to take it easy on Bradley, his old defensive coordinator, who is in his first season as coach of the Jaguars.

The Mark Brunell watch began Wednesday in Jacksonville, Fla. The Jaguar quarterback took live snaps in practice for the first time since tearing knee ligaments Aug. 9, though he refused to guess whether he could play Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. And the Jaguars' situation at quarterback was no less muddled than before a bye week. Coach Tom Coughlin kept backup Rob Johnson out of practice, cautiously handling his recovery from a sprained left ankle.

Tim Tebow needs a job. He really wants to be a quarterback in the NFL. The Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-2 and appear to be going nowhere. All right, look, do I really need to spell it out for you? Bring Tebow to Jacksonville already! Look, I know everyone's real busy, but I have a plan. Let's have a rally!

In each of the last 10 seasons, at least one team has gone from worst to first in its division. That's an NFL record. So which team is going to do it this season? The last-place finishers in 2012 were Buffalo, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Detroit, Carolina and Arizona. The No. 1 candidate is Kansas City, with Coach Andy Reid, quarterback Alex Smith and a roster loaded with Pro Bowl talent. According to Elias Sports Bureau, the 2012 Chiefs were the first team to have six Pro Bowl players and fewer than six victories in a season.
