Under pressure to improve his lineup, Braves General Manager Frank Wren wouldn't send his best pitching prospects to the Mets for Carlos Beltran . That looks like a great decision, and not just because Beltran has been a nonfactor for the Giants. However, MLB.com reported Monday that Jurrjens was told not to throw from a mound for two more weeks and that there was "very little reason to think Jurrjens would be ready to pitch at the start of the playoffs. " Jurrjens' Sunday start was scratched after he felt constant discomfort, which may have caused him to be roughed up in three of four starts since returning from the disabled list in August.
