In "The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc," Milla Jovovich is just the latest in a succession of actresses who have played the role of Joan of Arc on screen. Here's a look at some other notable films and miniseries about the French girl who goes on to become a heroine, a martyr and a saint. Those available on video are noted with an asterisk. * "Joan the Woman": Geraldine Farrar plays Joan in Cecil B.

IT'S been 25 years since the Go-Go's got going, and L.A.'s own sirens of sun-drenched summer hits, such as "Vacation" and "We Got the Beat," are marking the milestone with a world tour that will eventually bring them home for a Greek Theatre date July 14. For the last 14 years, however, home for lead singer Belinda Carlisle has been in the South of France, where she shares a chateau with husband Morgan Mason and their son, James Duke.

SAN FRANCISCO - They were known simply as the San Francisco Twins. At 5-foot-1 and about 100 pounds apiece, the fashion enthusiasts were an integral part of the city fabric for four decades. With matching furs, hats and high-end purses, they completed each other's sentences, posed for countless tourist snapshots and modeled for the likes of Reebok, Joe Boxer and IBM. Now one is gone. Vivian Brown, 85, who had Alzheimer's, died in her sleep Wednesday, leaving behind Marian, who was eight minutes younger.

California State Sen. Tom Hayden embraced pal David Crosby outside the Rock the Vote party and asked, "So what's going on in there?" "Schmooze," Crosby replied. "Heavy schmooze." Indeed, it's been several days of heavy schmooze as myriad special interest groups have thrown parties to raise funds and grab a moment in the spotlight for their cause. Thousands of out-of-towners (including copious celebrities) on an inaugural high have fortified the events. Tuesday at 4 p.m.

John McVie, the Mac of Fleetwood Mac, and his wife, Julie, have listed their longtime home in the western San Fernando Valley at just under $1.6 million. The McVies have owned the home, on 1.5-plus acres in the gated community of Bell Canyon, since it was built in 1988. The Mediterranean-style house has five bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms in about 4,500 square feet. The home also has a rock pool with a waterfall, a private driveway, and canyon and city views.

"C ute, bubbly, effervescent." In what is for the Go-Go's a three-word mantra of sorts, guitarist Charlotte Caffey has summed up an image that has stuck since its early '80s heyday, much to the band's chagrin. The first all-female band ever to make it big, the Go-Go's were celebrated for their fun-loving charm, for their best-buddies camaraderie and for the garagey pop songs that propelled their first album, "Beauty and the Beat," to a six-week stay at the top of the charts.

Those who managed to squeeze into the Roxy for Kid Rock's sold-out show last week got to see a fierce performance by the newly adopted MTV veejay. OK, he's not actually a veejay--but he gets more air time than Carson Daly. Seems every time the music network has a special event, they call on the Motor City rapper to perform.

Sure, it's pretentious for a band to make its stage entrance to a blaring tape of "Also Sprach Zarathustra," but perhaps that pomp is justified when the timpani are drowned out by the tumult of the standing ovation greeting the band. So the Go-Go's reclaimed the concert stage after nearly a 10-year absence (discounting a 1990 mini-tour), kicking off a short reunion tour Sunday at the Coach House (they also play the Wiltern in Los Angeles on Dec. 1 and 2).
