Todd Santos of San Diego State passed for one touchdown and ran for another Sunday, leading the West college football all-stars to a 17-3 victory over the East in the Japan Bowl. Santos hit Guy Liggins on a 39-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. In the first quarter, Santos sneaked one yard for a first down on the East one-yard line and then scored on another run.

Robert Drummond of Syracuse scored 2 touchdowns and Pete Stoyanovich of Indiana added 3 field goals as the East routed the West, 30-7, today in the Japan Bowl. Drummond scored on runs of 41 yards and 1 yard and Duke's Anthony Dilweg passed 10 yards to Anthony Brown of West Virginia for the East's other touchdown in the all-star game, watched by about 30,000. Stoyanovich added field goals of 49, 30 and 22 yards.

Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown and All-American quarterback Don McPherson are big-crowd draws here, and a sellout appears likely for this weekend's Japan Bowl, an annual college all-star game, to be played at Yokohama. "Ticket sales are at a faster pace than last year, and we expect they will be sold out before Sunday," an official of the game's organizing committee said Friday. The game will be played at the 30,000-seat Yokohama Stadium with a kickoff time of 7 p.m.
