His poor play this season is weighing on Jared Dudley, causing the normally upbeat and gregarious Clippers small forward to take himself to task for his performances. Dudley swore at himself during media interviews following yet another bad game against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night, even going so far as to say he would “bench” himself if he was the coach. But Dudley wasn't done ripping himself, taking to his Twitter feed @JaredDudley619 to apologize to Clippers fans and to take one last shot at himself.

PHOENIX - Even with Blake Griffin looking like he still wasn't 100% healthy because of back spasms and the Clippers falling into a 17-point hole in the third quarter, Los Angeles showed how much resolve it has as a team. Griffin played through his pain, Jared Dudley played hard and Chris Paul, Matt Barnes and Darren Collison gave it their all to help the Clippers defeat the Phoenix Suns, 112-108, Wednesday night at the US Airways Center. By winning their fourth straight game on this five-game trip, the Clippers clinched the Pacific Division, their second straight.

- Clippers small forward Jared Dudley said he had an MRI exam Friday on his bruised right knee that was negative. Dudley said he was having a "tough time bending" the knee so he wanted to see a doctor to know that "mentally" there wasn't a problem. Dudley said the kneecap was rubbing against a ligament and that has caused some inflammation in his knee. "I can't really bend my knees the full extension," said Dudley, who had nine points in 27 minutes against the Houston Rockets on Saturday.

PHOENIX - Jared Dudley had started the first 29 regular-season games for the Clippers, struggling to find his way before eventually losing his small forward position to Matt Barnes on Jan. 20 at Detroit. Now Dudley is in the midst of just trying to get some playing time, but even with limited minutes, he hasn't complained. "You just got to stay ready," Dudley said. "I just think my game is suited for the playoffs. When you have two or three days to prepare for a guy, you know what you're going to get from me. " Things got worse for Dudley when the Clippers signed free-agent Danny Granger, who just happened to play the same small forward position as Dudley.

Clippers forward Jared Dudley said he got a platelet-rich plasma injection to help alleviate the painful tendinitis in his right knee. The procedure, known as PRP, takes a sample of the patient's blood and spins it in a centrifuge for 15 minutes. It is then injected to accelerate tissue repair. Though he's hurting, Dudley hasn't missed any of the Clippers' 15 games. He is averaging 8.4 points per game on 48% shooting, with 38.5% (20 for 52) on three-pointers. He's playing 27 minutes per game.

The calendar flipped and there were indeed a few things different about the Clippers. Some resolve on defense, for one thing, not to mention a turn-back-the-clock performance from Jared Dudley. Oh, and there's this nugget: The Clippers are perfect in 2014 against the dreadful Eastern Conference after a 112-85 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night at Staples Center. Box score: Clippers 112, Bobcats 85 That actually ranks as something of an achievement considering wins had been no sure thing for the Clippers against the league's scarlet letter half; they came into the game 6-6 against a conference that features all of three teams with winning records.

As expected, forward Antawn Jamison signed a one-year contract with the Clippers on Wednesday for the veteran's minimum of about $1.4 million. The 15-year veteran, who spent last season with the Lakers, has career averages of 18.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists. He will probably come off the bench and back up forwards Blake Griffin and Jared Dudley. Jamison underwent surgery in late April to repair an injured wrist after averaging career lows in points (9.4), rebounds (4.8)

Clippers Coach Doc Rivers talked about how much he admired how hard the undermanned Utah Jazz played in a 98-90 loss on Saturday night at Staples Center. In that same vein, Rivers said his team has been playing hard too. The Clippers played hard in losing at Golden State and Portland last week, and they played hard in defeating the Jazz. “I think we're getting that way for sure,” Rivers said. “I think we play hard most nights. "When you have the talent that we have, it's more trying to get guys to play in the right spirit every night.

HOUSTON -- Injuries could play a role in how things shake out between the Clippers and Houston Rockets when the two teams meet Saturday night at the Toyota Center. Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said forward Jared Dudley (tendinitis in right knee) will play after experiencing pain in the knee Thursday night against the Miami Heat. Rivers said backup forward Matt Barnes (bruised right thigh) will not play for the third consecutive game. Houston All-Star guard James Harden has a bruised left foot and a sore right foot and said he will be a game-time decision.

SALT LAKE CITY - Darren Collison is listed as 6 feet tall and 175 pounds, but the Clippers point guard appears to be shorter and slighter. But Collison plays bigger than his measurements. Collison has been forced to start at shooting guard because 6-5 Jamal Crawford is out with a strained left calf and 6-4 J.J. Redick is out with a bulging disk in his back. "I think playing against bigger guards this year has been real helpful for me, in terms of improving my defense and getting me better any way that I can," Collison said.

The Clippers' Jared Dudley, who has missed the team's last three consecutive games while recovering from back spasms, said he will play Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center. Dudley worked out at the Clippers' shoot-around Wednesday morning and said he felt good enough to play. “I could have gone on Monday,” Dudley said. “It was like 85% [healthy]. There's no pain [now] and no restrictions.” Dudley plays a small forward position that is crowded.

With Jamal Crawford out again because of a strained left calf and J.J. Redick still out because of a bulging disk in his lower back, the Clippers are missing a big part of their offense. Crawford is the reserve shooting guard who became the starter when Redick went down. Redick is the starting shooting guard when he's healthy. Together, they average a combined 34.4 points per game for the Clippers. Crawford, considered one of the leading candidates for the NBA's sixth-man-of-the-year award, is second on the team in scoring, averaging 18.7 points.

Two weeks have passed since the NBA trading deadline, two weeks for Matt Barnes to contemplate his future with the Clippers. Barnes has elevated his game during that time, but it still appears to weigh on the small forward that he was among Clippers mentioned in trade talks with the New York Knicks. Rather than sulk, Barnes has seemed to use that as fuel for perhaps his best stretch of games all season. In six games after the trade deadline passed, Barnes averaged 17.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists before the Clippers played the Lakers on Thursday night at Staples Center.

NEW YORK - The words of Chris Paul still rang in the ears of his Clippers teammates even though their leader was not with the team. "Something CP always says when we're on a road trip, 'Can't win them all without winning that first one,'" Blake Griffin said about Paul, who is out with a separated right shoulder and isn't on the trip with his teammates. And the Clippers did just that, starting their seven-game, 11-day trip with an impressive beating of the New York Knicks, 109-95, Friday night at Madison Square Garden.

Doc Rivers interrupted a reporter when the name Hedo Turkoglu came up. "How do you pronounce his name?" the Clippers' coach asked. "Because I need to get used to that. " For the record, it's HEE-doh TURK-ah-lou. Clippers broadcaster Ralph Lawler could be saying it a lot after Rivers acknowledged Wednesday evening that the team anticipated signing the free-agent forward once he completed a physical. Rivers said Turkoglu could join the Clippers by the time they open a seven-game, 11-day trip Friday against the New York Knicks.
