RoomAtlas.com lets you spot-check prices on a Google map and has TripAdvisor reviews waiting for your perusal in the sidebar. What's hot: It's nice to look at a map and see a graphic depiction of hotel pricing. The simplicity of Room Atlas makes researching hotel rates quick and easy. As you browse hotel prices on the map, click on the price tag to get a summary bubble. On it you'll find the star rating, links to hotel details and reviews, and a link called Shortlist, the feature I like best.

If Vegas is in your plans, chances are the Palms Casino Resort is in your budget. Partygoers love staying at the Palms because they're likely to run into a celebrity and can enjoy the dance scene at Rain nightclub, the sexy service at the Playboy Club and the drinks 55 floors up at Ghostbar. Deal: You can get 30% off when you stay three or more nights at the Palms in a deal from Vegas.com. I checked April 7-10, a Wednesday-Saturday, and the price came to an average of $83 per night pretax, or $287 total, with taxes and fees.

Travelocity answers its customers' call for more do-it-yourself deal searching and adds a travel deals tool kit loaded with interactivity and customization. What's hot: I liked the interactive map a lot, but I had the most fun when I rolled up my sleeves and started using the customizable tool kit. You can flip between flight deals and vacation packages and click between travel destination themes, such as romance, world and beach. Even better, you can drag your favorite results into a box and compare them later or share with your social network on Twitter or Facebook.
