Former President George W. Bush unveiled some of his paintings of world leaders -- including a portrait of himself -- in an interview Friday on NBC's "Today" show conducted by his daughter, Jenna Bush Hager. The paintings will be part of the former president's first solo art exhibition, "The Art of Leadership: A President's Personal Diplomacy," opening this month at the  George W. The exhibition, which opens Saturday and runs through June 3, will feature two dozen never-before-exhibited portraits created by Bush, as well as personal artifacts, photographs and other items that will tell the story of his relationship with international leaders.

Filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard will not be coming to Hollywood to accept his honorary Academy Award. Academy President Tom Sherak said Monday that he had gotten word from Godard that the 79-year-old director would not attend the Governors Awards on Nov. 13, when honorary Oscars are presented. The decision followed what the academy called a cordial, two-month exchange with the iconoclastic filmmaker, a pioneer of the French New Wave who has taken potshots at Hollywood over the years.

NBC's newest correspondent fits the profile of a lot of other network news hires — bright, articulate and educated at America's best colleges. She's also unlike other network news hires — having lived for eight years in the White House and done little to veil her suspicion of the media. So it was with more than a little carping and some outright disdain that professional journalists and other Washington observers greeted Chelsea Clinton's ascension to a prime-time television perch.

Last week Meghan McCain spent two days chattering with the ladies of ABC's "The View." Today she's scheduled to talk about hair extensions on the CW's "The Tyra Banks Show." And this hour, and seemingly every hour, Sen. John McCain's daughter tweets away, gabbing with members of her "Twitterfam" about her hopes for a better dating life and for more flattering photos of her rear end. This woman-child, just out of college, would build a solo media conglomerate and claim a role as a spokeswoman for a new GOP, based mostly on pluck, her name, good cheer, her name, sass and, did I say, her name?
