Los Angeles Raiders all-pro linebacker Jerry Robinson was arrested early today on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and felony possession of cocaine and codeine, deputies said. Robinson, 30, was stopped after he drove his gray Mercedes Benz through flares laid out by deputies at the scene of a traffic accident at Crenshaw Boulevard and Indian Peak Road, near his home in Rancho Palos Verdes, Deputy Pete Fosselman said.

The hardest thing about the Raiders, learned young Jerry Robinson, a lifelong fan who grew up in Santa Rosa trying to peek over the fences at their old training site, is playing for them. Where did he go, Mr. Robinson? From the Philadelphia Eagles last season to the Raiders, who had an inside linebacker spot dusted off for him.

Found: another Raider comic. These weren't in short supply, but their number grew by one when they acquired Jerry Robinson, the former Bruin, one-time Pro Bowl linebacker and recent holdout, who got his wish Monday and became an ex-Philadelphia Eagle. Robinson is also a native of Santa Rosa, where the Raiders once trained. He was one of those little kids who idolized them and wasn't allowed in to see their practices which were then, as now, closed.
