Jessica Alba wore double corsets to achieve her signature toned body after her two pregnancies. So, basically, she would have fit right in in Victorian-era England. It turns out the secret to concealing the visible changes a woman's body undergoes during childbearing is wearing two girdles. "It was brutal; it's not for everyone," the 31-year-old told Net-A-Porter's digital magazine. "I wore a double corset day and night for three months. It was sweaty, but worth it. " PHOTOS: 50 most beautiful female celebrities Celebrities including Brooke Burke-Charvet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kourtney Kardashian and Jennifer Garner reportedly used the tummy-tucking method too. Jessica Alba, best known as the star of television's short-lived "Dark Angel" and the feature film "Honey" -- and a favorite of all those "hotlists" in the men's magazines -- is as much veteran as ingenue. The first, "Into the Blue," due out July 15 from MGM, Mandalay Pictures took her to the Bahamas.

Under the circumstances, traveling to Paris may have delayed some, but for Danielle Steel, getting to the couture shows presented no problem. "I live in Paris," said the former San Francisco resident, arguably among the most popular authors alive today.
