On the final day of the Plan B signing period, the Rams added their fourth and probably final free agent Wednesday, signing Seattle reserve defensive lineman Jim Skow. The period ended at midnight Wednesday and the Rams were not expected to close any 11th-hour deals. Skow joins receiver Jeff Chadwick, running back Derek Loville and center Blair Bush on the Rams' Plan B list. All four played for Knox in Seattle at some point in their careers.

Turning his back on exhibition performances, popular sentiment and the power-football philosophy he used to personify, Ram Coach Chuck Knox on Monday waived Marcus Dupree, the team's most impressive running back this summer. Dupree, who joined the Rams two years ago after an injury-caused five-year layoff from football, leaves the team as he seemed to be reaching a level close to what he enjoyed as a Mississippi high school legend.

Though the Rams registered two sacks, including one in which Kevin Greene beat a double-team to get to the quarterback, Coach Chuck Knox said he would've liked more of a consistent pass rush Saturday night in the team's 19-16 overtime victory over the Raiders. "Well, I'm concerned about it," Knox said. "But I also know that Bill Hawkins, who has been looking pretty good, didn't play (because of a calf injury). And Jim Skow (shoulder) didn't play, and Sean Gilbert (ankle) didn't play."
