Now, at the ripe age of 11, James (Jimmy) Freeman has a job many adults might envy: Who wouldn't want to be a vice president of fun?

St. Margaret's two touchdowns in the first half were all the points it would need as the Tartans defeated Riverside California School for the Deaf, 14-8, Thursday at Capistrano Valley High School. The Tartans' (4-4, 2-2) first score came when quarterback Jimmy Freeman connected with Dylan Gilbert in the first quarter on a 16-yard pass to make the score 7-0 after Alex Perrin's extra point. St.

Darren Kelly rushed for 193 yards in 15 carries and scored two touchdowns, leading St. Margaret's to a 53-18 victory over Downey Calvary Chapel in an Academy League game Friday at Cerritos Valley Christian. St. Margaret's (5-3, 4-0) also got two touchdowns from Jimmy Freeman and Alex Perin and another from Brent Commerford. Perin also kicked a 22-yard field goal and Freeman threw a touchdown pass for the Tartans. St. Margaret's produced four touchdowns in the opening quarter for a 28-6 lead.

Dana Hills, ranked fourth in the county, won its third consecutive South Coast League boys' tennis title, defeating Capistrano Valley, 17-1, in the final league match of the season Friday at Capistrano Valley High. Florian Glattes swept in singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for the Dolphins (18-2, 10-0 in league), ranked eighth in Southern Section Division I.

San Diego Francis Parker 30, St. Margaret's 6--Gary Johnson rushed for 264 yards and scored three touchdowns in Francis Parker's victory in a nonleague game at Capistrano Valley High. Johnson scored on a 32-yard run late in the first quarter to give the Lancers (2-0) a 7-0 lead. However, on St. Margaret's first play of the second quarter, Jimmy Freeman caught a 63-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dylan Gilbert. The extra point was missed and Francis Parker led, 7-6.

7 TONIGHT MISSION VIEJO HIGH A year ago, neither team had a winning record, but tonight's game is for the Academy League championship. Capistrano Valley Christian has outscored league opponents, 187-59, behind running back Dustin Smith (6 1/2 yards per carry) and the passing efficiency of Jamie Tellier (51%). St. Margaret's running back Daren Kelly is having a banner season, averaging 12 yards per carry. St. Margaret's is averaging 55 points a game in league play.

Tony Jones scored the first two touchdowns for Santa Ana (2-4) in the first quarter. In the Academy League: St. Margaret's 54, Sherman Oaks Campbell Hall 20--Rhett Swanson connected with Jimmy Freeman on four touchdown passes to lead St. Margaret's (3-3, 2-0).
