Joe Hahn of the alt rock band Linkin Park has sold his home in Brentwood for $4 million. Set in a six-home gated community, the contemporary house was built in 2002. Features include a rotunda staircase, floor-to-ceiling windows, solar power, an elevator, five bedrooms, six bathrooms, 6,893 square feet of living space and a three-car garage. The more than half an acre of grounds has city, canyon and ocean views. Hahn, 37, is the DJ and programmer for Linkin Park, which has won two Grammy Awards and sold more than 60 million albums worldwide.

The longtime home of the late actress Bonnie Franklin has been sold in Encino for $2.1 million. The one-story traditional, priced at $1.945 million, went into escrow 10 days after coming on the market and closed in a little more than a month. Features include a family room, a den/office with a fireplace, three more fireplaces, three en suite bedrooms, an additional bathroom and 3,771 square feet of living space. The more than three-quarter lot includes a swimming pool with a brick surround.

Styx guitarist and singer Tommy Shaw has sold his Hollywood Hills home to Swedish JD Eric Prydz for $5.3 million, the Multiple Listing Service shows. The gated hilltop compound includes a two-story main house, two guest houses, a free-form swimming pool, a cascading spa fountain and a pavilion lounge on less than an acre. A star architect to celebrities Shaw, 59, also has played with the bands Damn Yankees and Shaw Blades, as well as done solo work. Prydz, 37, is also a Los Angeles-based producer.

The contemporary house, built in 2009, features retractable walls of glass and a top-floor master bedroom with a dressing area and bathroom; it has a total of four bedrooms and four bathrooms in 3,353 square feet. Although talk show host and football analyst Michael Strahan was initially a reluctant seller, a $3-million gain in less than a year helped him overcome his hesitancy. Strahan and his fiancee, television personality Nicole Murphy, have sold their Bel-Air home for $11 million in an all-cash deal. The couple had planned to build their dream house on the 1-acre site, which they bought last year for $7.8 million. They had torn down most of the existing 1926 Mediterranean home.

In its annual reorganization, the City Council has named Harvey Holden mayor. Holden, who has served on the council since 1980, replaces Joe Hahn. The new mayor pro tem is Drexel Smith. The other members of the council are Bert Ashley and Charles Richardson.
