The founders of a Jordan High School program that teaches students how to resolve conflicts peacefully will be honored by the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations next month. Jordan High School Co-Principal Mel Collins and community volunteer Gloria McMillan developed "Peace 90805" (named for the ZIP code) more than a year ago to help quell rising ethnic tensions on the 3,200-student North Long Beach campus.
