WWE's biggest pay-per-view of the year, WrestleMania 29, was held Sunday in New Jersey and many fans, especially those who hate John Cena, were interested in the results, specifically who would win the match between Cena and The Rock. Most fans who don't like Cena (pretty much any male over the age of 18), were hoping that Cena would lose. They are tired of his character. But, WWE has a business to run. Cena sells more merchandise than any other wrestler, he is the face of the company, and the match result Sunday was the best for long-term business.

Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE world heavyweight title Bryan got his Wrestlemania moment, making Batista tap out to the Yes Lock. The show ended with the 70,000+ chanting "Yes" as Bryan held up the titles. Excellent match. Tomorrow's Raw will be very interesting indeed. 14-Divas match for the Divas title AJ Lee retained when she slapped the Black Widow on Naomi. No one in the audience cared because they were still stunned that the Undertaker lost.

So there I am, excited by the Kings finally winning the Stanley Cup, when I change channels to watch "Monday Night Raw. " And my night got even better, as the chairman of the board, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, opened the show. You see, one of the things that made the WWE great back in the old Attitude days was its unpredictable nature. The show was (and still is) live, and with characters like the Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mankind and DX, you never really knew what was going to happen next.

Well, as if WWE couldn't get wacky enough, on this week's episode of "Monday Night Raw," it was announced that Charlie Sheen, yes, that Charlie Sheen, will be the WWE's social media ambassador during the 1,000th episode of Raw on July 23. What does that mean? I'm glad you asked. Sheen will tweet during the July 23 Raw, providing up-to-the-minute commentary on the night's action to his 7.5 million Twitter followers.  The WWE will try to add some new fans to their show by taking advantage of the more than 12 million fans Sheen has on the social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.  WWE and Sheen fans will be able to ask the actor questions during the broadcast via Twitter using the #SheenGetsRaw hashtag.

WWE SummerSlam delivered more than its share of thrills Sunday night -- but it saved the most shocking for last. John Cena entered the event as the WWE champion but lost his belt to handpicked challenger Daniel Bryan. But Bryan didn't leave Staples Center as the WWE champion either. As the bearded wrestler celebrated in the ring, Randy Orton's theme music started to play. Orton entered the arena carrying his Money In the Bank briefcase, which allows him to challenge for the WWE championship at any time.

"Legendary" is a bold-faced name for a lowercase effort, a school wrestling drama so mired in family-film clichés it can never shake loose the suspicion that — not unlike certain high-gloss mat bouts — the emotional fix is in from the get-go. From a few scenes introducing an easily bullied, bespectacled high schooler named Cal ( Devon Graye), his protective, widowed mother Sharon ( Patricia Clarkson), Cal's estranged, troubled ex-wrestler brother Mike (wrestling star John Cena)

WWE celebrated its 1,000th episode of " Monday Night Raw " this week with an action-packed three-hour-show that featured not only the return of some of the biggest superstars of the past, but also featured a masterful heel turn by CM Punk to close the show. I have been a big critic of the way Punk has been handled the last few weeks. The whole Punk-AJ-Daniel Bryan triangle made him look weak and stupid. He was becoming an afterthought, a fact pointed out by numerous other characters on the show, such as Eve Torres.

This, and other contests in the ring, generated more than 300,000 comments on Twitter, ranking it among the top 10 most commented television shows for the week of Aug. 12-18. I'm usually not a huge fan of WWE's backstage skits. Often they are filled with juvenile comedy and go on far too long, sort of like every Adam Sandler movie ever made. This week on "Monday Night Raw" however, a skit appeared that may make a believer out of me. It seems that Daniel Bryan, who every week becomes irate when fans start chanting his "Yes! Yes! Yes!" catchphrase, has been ordered by "Raw" GM AJ Lee to undergo anger management counseling. And the results have been hilarious.

Finally, prestige has come back to the WWE championship. At least it has if you believe new WWE heavyweight champion The Rock. You see, John Cena won the WWE championship about eight years ago, and at the time, Cena was a wannabe rap star. In keeping with that theme, he had a new WWE title belt designed that featured a spinning WWE logo in the middle, sort of like those car rims that spin. Most longtime WWE fans hated the new design, thinking it was more suited for a Vanilla Ice concert than something as prestigious as the WWE championship.

WWE superstar John Cena, who has been the face of the franchise the last several years and its leading merchandise seller, underwent elbow surgery Tuesday and will be out of action for at least three weeks. The surgery to remove bone chips was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala.  "He had begun to lose motion in his arm, and it had been locking up," Andrews said. "I performed an arthroscopic procedure on his elbow and took out a bunch of spurs. Everything went really well.
