A 25-year-old man was in fair condition after being shot in the chest and leg at a motel early Monday. Sean Flannary, a Garden Grove resident, was found about 2:55 a.m. on the second-floor balcony of the Fire Station Motel, 12625 Harbor Blvd., Police Lt. John Woods said. He was treated for gunshot wounds Monday at UCI Medical Center, where his condition was listed as fair and stable, officials said.

An 18-year-old man was in critical condition Sunday at UCI Medical Center in Orange after being stabbed in the chest in a fight Saturday night. Police said the victim, whose name was withheld until his family could be been notified, was found bleeding in the parking lot of the Jack-in-the-Box restaurant at 12091 Euclid St. Officers were sent to the restaurant about midnight Saturday after a caller reported a fight in the parking lot, according to Lt. John Woods.

An all-night, weekend party for seniors at Pacifica High School was interrupted by two small explosions caused by dry-ice bombs left near the school gym and pool, police said. The explosions occurred about 1 a.m. Saturday. Seniors had gathered for an overnight celebration supervised by teachers and parents, said Garden Grove Police Lt. John Woods. A search of the campus turned up four more devices; the Orange County Sheriff's bomb squad disarmed them, Woods said.

Police arrested a third man Thursday in connection with the fatal stabbings last weekend of two men in Garden Grove. Armando Moreno Jr., 18, was booked on suspicion of murder and assault with the intent to murder after detectives arrested him at his Costa Mesa home, Lt. John Woods said. Hector De La Torre, 24, of Santa Ana and Oscar (Tiny) Jimenez, 18, of Garden Grove were killed last Saturday after an argument that police say was gang-related.

An unidentified man was discovered dead in Twin Lakes Park on Tuesday, and police were investigating the death as a homicide. Garden Grove park workers first saw the man about 7:20 a.m. lying on the grass at the park on Lampson Avenue near Haster Street. "They initially thought the subject was just a transient sleeping there," Police Lt. John Woods said. "But when they came back about 9:30 a.m., they saw him in the same position, made contact with him and realized he was dead."

A woman was electrocuted late Wednesday night in a swimming pool that may have had a wiring problem. Kathryn Douglas, 21, was pronounced dead shortly after midnight at West Anaheim Medical Center, said Garden Grove police Lt. John Woods. He did not know whether Douglas lived at the house where the pool was located. A preliminary investigation indicated "possible faulty wiring," Woods said. He said Garden Grove Fire Department workers answered a call about a reported drowning at 11:10 p.m.

Undercover police arrested 37 men for soliciting prostitution during a sting operation Friday night and early Saturday) morning. Three female officers posing as prostitutes were involved in the 6 1/2-hour operation, which targeted an increase in prostitution along Harbor Boulevard, Lt. John Woods said After an absence of two to three years, prostitutes appear to have returned to the street, Woods said, apparently chased out of Anaheim and Santa Ana.

Three women believed to be involved in a gunfight that injured one of them were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder early Monday after they allegedly opened fire on a news photographer who followed their car from the scene. Arrested were Tho Minh Luu, 20, of Yorba Linda; Hong Thanh Le, 21, of Santa Ana; and Mindy Nguyen Dao, 23, of Canoga Park. Dao was taken to Western Medical Center in Anaheim, where she was being treated for a gunshot wound in the back.

A Garden Grove man suspected of biting off another man's ear after a barroom brawl last month was arrested Wednesday, Garden Grove police said. Lt. John Woods said Diego Barriga, 51, and the victim, Valentin Gonzalez, 53, of Santa Ana, were acquaintances. They were at the Humdinger 4 bar on Harbor Boulevard on May 21 when they began to argue, Woods said. The fight continued outside, which is when Gonzalez's ear was bitten off, Woods said.

Police are asking the public's help in finding a 50-year-old man who disappeared from his home under suspicious circumstances. Manuel Arriola got a call from a friend a week ago about a job interview, Police Lt. John Woods said. He was last seen about 2 p.m. Thursday leaving his house with the friend for the interview. "He took absolutely nothing with him, and hasn't been seen ever since," Woods said. The family does not know who the friend was nor how to reach him, Woods said.
