Cal State Northridge got no respect in the preseason men's volleyball rankings, but the Matadors earned some Tuesday night by defeating third-ranked Cal State Long Beach, 15-10, 13-15, 15-7, 7-15, 15-11, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match. Northridge, unranked in the coaches' national preseason poll, went into the game ranked eighth. "They put us in the 'teams to watch' category," CSUN Coach John Price said. "We get dogged every year at the beginning. I'm getting a little tired of it."
