Get out and enjoy nature? Oh please. It's a lot of hard work, and what do you get for it? A backache from lugging all the equipment, a sleeping bag with a broken zipper, and who forgot the matches? Wanderlust Hospitality has a better idea: glamorous camping, or glamping, this summer in three state parks on Washington's San Juan Islands. To celebrate the solstice and the beginning of summer, glamping sites will be in place June 21-24 for a three-night, four-day stay in Spencer Spit State Park on Lopez Island.

PHOENIX - Juan Uribe will play first base Monday, as the Dodgers look at him as a potential backup for Adrian Gonzalez. Uribe, 33, has played in 1,399 games over a dozen major league seasons and has never played first base. “But, as you know, one has to do what they're told,” he said. Particularly Uribe, who is in danger of being released. Uribe is still owed $8 million, but that probably alone wouldn't stop the deep-pocketed Dodgers from cutting him. Uribe hit .199 over his first two seasons with the Dodgers.

PHOENIX -- For the Dodgers, third base represents uncertainty. It is the only position where they don't have a clear-cut starter. Luis Cruz senses an opportunity. Juan Uribe is seeking redemption. The Mexican-born Cruz had a fairy tale 2012 season. A career minor league player whose big league experience consisted of brief stints with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers, he was called up by the Dodgers on July 2. Cruz played shortstop until the Dodgers moved him to third base to accommodate Hanley Ramirez, whom they acquired in a trade with the Miami Marlins.

When last we left Manny Pacquiao, darling of the fight world, he was flat on his face, out cold in the corner of a boxing ring. It was the night of Dec. 8, in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It was such a startling moment that even the most rabid fans of Juan Manuel Marquez, who threw the punch that put Pacquiao in that situation, had to have a fleeting moment of dread that something really bad had just happened. Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's Hall of Fame trainer, was just a few feet away and was horrified.

NEW YORK -- "Understated elegance. Like a whisper. " That's how Los Angeles-based designer Juan Carlos Obando described his fall 2013 collection, shown Thursday afternoon at New York Fashion Week, in the salon of the Academy Mansion on the Upper East Side. Obando drew inspiration from four muses he would not name, but no doubt one of them was Katherine Ross, a fashion consultant and the wife of Los Angeles County Museum of Art director Michael Govan, who has been a supporter of the designer's work.

It's official: Juanes, the Colombian pop superstar, will perform at the Grammy Awards show. His presence, though hardly surprising, likely will give the broadcast a ratings boost with Latino viewers. He also performed Wednesday evening at USC as part of the fourth annual "Grammy in the Schools Live! - A Celebration of Music & Education," which showcased several high school music-training and education initiatives that are supported by the Grammy Foundation.  PHOTOS:  Top nominees  |  Snubs & surprises  |  Nominations concert  |  Full coverage Juanes' chart-topping record "MTV: Unplugged," which won last year's Latin Grammy album of the Year, is a leading contender to win the Grammy prize for Latin pop album.

More evidence that the Yankees are the new Dodgers. No, wait, that's backwards. Whatever, Monday brought one more slight role reversal. The Yankees have signed former Dodger Juan Rivera, according to ESPN's Andrew Marchad . At least it was only to a minor-league deal and not the $4 million he earned from the Dodgers last season (plus a $500,000 buyout for this year), though he is in decent position to earn some playing time in New York. All three of the Yankees starting outfielders are left-handed hitters --  Ichiro Suzuki, Brett Gardner and Curtis Granderson -- and a right-handed hitting outfielder figures to get a decent amount of playing time.

The San Juan Capistrano dinosaur is one step closer to extinction after city planning commissioners voted to evict the 40-foot long Apatosaurus statue from a petting zoo in the heart of the city's oldest neighborhood. Commissioners said the dinosaur, which peeks onto historic Los Rios Street from the tiny zoo, does not reflect the history of San Juan, which would have been underwater when such animals roamed the Earth. Carolyn Franks, owner of Zoomars Petting Zoo, said she plans to appeal the commission's 4-2 vote.
