Juice Stop Franchising Corp. said Thursday it has tapped veteran Orange County fast-food executive Raymond J. Perry to become its chief executive. Perry, 56, of Villa Park, was president of El Pollo Loco when he left in September 1995 to become chief operating officer of Hardee's Food Systems in Rocky Mount, N.C. In that position, he helped negotiate Hardee's sale to Anaheim-based CKE Restaurants, Inc., which owns Carl's Jr. Perry also has been an executive vice president at Carl's Jr.

Juice Ventures Inc., the Irvine-based owner of Juice It Up juice bars, plans to double in size this year as it launches an expansion into nine states. Company officials said they purchased Juice It Up's North Carolina-based licensee, boosting the company's store count to 41. In addition, Juice Ventures is planning to acquire its "No. 1 competitor" in Orange County, which company officials declined to name. Executives at California Juice Stop Corp.
