Julianna Margulies is the first to admit -- her career has been full of drama. The actress, who has found a niche playing tough beautiful women who suffer just enough, recently pulled off one of the rarest coups in the entertainment industry for an actress in her 40s: the comeback. In January, Margulies carried home a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award for her role on CBS' "The Good Wife." And now she's returning to the big screen, starring opposite Andy Garcia in " City Island," which opens in theaters Friday.

To complement the dramatic, black and gold Andrew Gn gown worn by Juliana Margulies -- star of "The Good Wife" and Golden Globe nominee for lead actress in a TV drama -- makeup artists Molly R. Stern went for what she calls an "Italian-inspired smoky cat eye. " Stern started with L'Oreal's black liquid eyeliner and created a swooping cat eye toward the outer corner.  "I took it really heavy at the edge of the eye," Stern said.  "It's Sophia Loren-inspired...

Most actresses have stayed away from prints, a huge fashion trend at the spring runway shows at New York Fashion Week earlier this month. One exception is Julianna Margulies, whose green brocade, couture-style Giambattista Valli gown seems to be weighing her down. Another is Elisabeth Moss, who is wearing a floral print Mikado gown by Dolce & Gabbana, along with a new blond hair style. Both Margulies and Moss get lost in all the folds and busy patterns.  There's enough happening on the red carpet as it is. Prints just make the scene all the more dizzying.

This year's Emmy nominees reveal a bittersweet side effect of the onslaught of quality dramas and comedies, particularly in the cable universe. There's too much of a good thing. Key performers and shows that received Emmy recognition in the past were passed over. Julianna Margulies, who stars as beleaguered attorney Alicia Florrick in the critically acclaimed "The Good Wife," was absent from the lead actress in a drama category. Margulies has been nominated three times for the CBS series, and won the award in 2011.

Julianna Margulies may play "The Good Wife," but her former manager says she was a cheap client. The star of CBS' legal drama was dealt a court setback Tuesday when a judge denied her motion for a summary judgment in a case filed by her former rep, Steve Dontanville. His firm sued Margulies last year claiming that she stiffed them for commissions on "The Good Wife," which in the fall will enter Season 5 on CBS. D/F Management is seeking at least $420,000, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Julianna Margulies, Jon Cryer, Eric Stonestreet of "Modern Family," "Boardwalk Empire" and "The Walking Dead" were among the key snubs in major Emmy categories. Margulies, who stars in CBS' "The Good Wife," was shut out of the lead actress in a drama category, where she has been nominated three times, winning in 2011. Also left out this time around was Cryer, who won last year for lead actor in a comedy for "Two and a Half Men. " Cryer has been nominated seven times in a row and won supporting actor for the role in 2009.

The first time Jon Hamm ever saw himself on screen was as an extra in a Missouri lottery commercial. Aaron Paul's debut was a Method-acted Corn Pops commercial, while Julianna Margulies learned the dangers of lying about job skills on her first movie. She had told Steven Seagal she was Puerto Rican, only to have him request she speak her lines in Spanish: “I was like, you know, I'm a Jew and Spanish is not my second language.... I was mortified that that was my first moment on the screen.” Their "firsts" was one of many topics discussed when The Times brought together Claire Danes (“Homeland”)

Julianna Margulies is almost too glamorous for television. With that raven hair and those fine-cut cheekbones, the 46-year-old actress seems born for adornment on a 22-foot-high screen. But her career has always revved on a higher level on the small screen, in such long-term roles as her seven-year stint on "ER" and, since 2009 as scorned spouse Alicia Florrick in "The Good Wife. " She's received Emmys for both shows but, "Wife" comes with a bonus: Once again, Margulies gets to live in New York City, where she happily mingles with the regular folk on the street and subway, and is tickled not to be recognized - because it lets her observe the human condition and be a better actor.

"Breaking Bad:The Movie"? It's within the realm of possibility, teases the show's star, Bryan Cranston. When AMC and “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan reached an agreement earlier this year to extend and eventually end the addictive drama with two eight-episode seasons, Gilligan told Cranston that he "couldn't imagine having enough story to fill 16 more episodes.” But when we spoke to Cranston recently, he revealed that the...

Is "The Good Wife" about to become the naughty ex-wife? When the critically acclaimed legal drama returns for its third season Sunday, fans may have more to get accustomed to than its new night and time. Julianna Margulies' Alicia Florrick is changing -- she's breaking free of her philandering husband Peter and wants to get her groove back. If the CBS show's promotional ads are any indication, Alicia may be spending as much time between the sheets as she does in front of a judge or playing office politics.
