If the shoe fits Nike's pristine new sneaker, at about $200 a pair retail, is the LeBron 11. Too bad they don't feel very snug on the feet of the 6-foot-8, 250-pound superstar whose name is on them. LeBron James only wore the new Nikes for two full games in the Heat's first 18 games this season, reported the Wall Street Journal. “I just want to be able to wear them,” James said Thursday after the story broke. “It's been a frustrating process. But obviously, I know that Nike [is]

It ended in frustration, without a hint of sentimentality. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen walked off the Staples Center court for what could be the last time as a group Sunday, their heavy-heartedness confined to the way the final few minutes unfolded for the Boston Celtics. They lost a five-point lead in the final 2 minutes 16 seconds and were pestered into a pair of desperation shots in the final moments of a 97-94 loss to the hated Lakers. "Sometimes that's the way it goes," Pierce said.

Kevin Garnett couldn't help but smile, a sure sign that he's feeling healthy. Ray Allen scored 20 points and the Boston Celtics, sparked by an alley-oop dunk from Garnett, pulled away for a 90-77 win over the Clippers on Monday night. Garnett played 18 minutes, making all five field-goal attempts while scoring 12 points. He added two rebounds and two assists in his third game back since sitting out 13 because of a sprained right knee.

Reporting from Boston -- Boston's Big Three has become the Occasionally Big Three. Only one of them plays really well per night, while the other two play average, subpar, sometimes terrible. They seem to rotate roles game to game — and perhaps Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen planned it that way so none of them hogs the spotlight. But intentional or not, this erratic cavalcade of up-down performances has worked for the Celtics thus far, getting them to the NBA Finals.

The Celtics' Last Hurrah is: A) Ongoing. B) Next season. C) Available on DVD. It was two seasons ago. Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were 32, 31 and 30, respectively, when they joined up, so it didn't look like the start of a new dynasty. People did get excited when they won the title their first season, 2007-08, laying out the favored Lakers as if it was still Bill Russell against Jim Krebs. When the Celtics started last season 27-2, people got really excited.

Anyone have an extra Big Three? Anyone you can spare, whether it's two star players or even just one, please send them to the TD Garden immediately. The Celtics used to have a Big Three of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. Now it's Rajon Rondo, someone like Nate Robinson or Glen Davis and whichever member of their old Big Three has a discernible pulse that night. If nothing else, it shows just how improbable the Celtics' run to the NBA Finals was. Two years ago, the Big Three always showed up. Last year, KG was lost in March, leaving just two. This spring they put Humpty Dumpty back together while clawing their way through the East draw, even as Pierce struggled in the first two rounds and KG shot 39% in the conference finals.

Garnett was drafted in 1995, Bryant in 1996.
