A $500,000 reward was offered in the search for an armored-car driver accused of overpowering two co-workers and fleeing with up to $20 million in one of the largest armored-car robberies in U.S. history. Philip Noel Johnson, 33, was being sought on a state warrant for armed robbery and kidnapping and a federal warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution for the Saturday night robbery at the Jacksonville, Fla., Loomis Fargo office.

A 9-month-old Tampa girl was kidnapped, raped and abandoned in a wooded area, and was hospitalized in serious condition. Randolph Standifer, 21, was charged with kidnapping, capital sexual battery and attempted first-degree murder and was being held without bail. He faces a possible life sentence if convicted. Standifer told detectives he took the baby from her crib Saturday morning, said Hillsborough County Sheriff's Col. David Gee. Standifer is a friend of the baby's family.
