The Pink Panther couldn't have done it better. In fact, the police should probably have been called after Fernando Toro and his 4-year-old accomplice, Kings Island, pulled off a wire-to-wire heist in the $238,000 Sunset Handicap to close out the 67-day meeting at Hollywood Park Monday afternoon.

Spend a Buck remains the only horse to collect a large bonus offered by a race track for winning a series of races. But, only a head in front by Kings Island in the $211,800 Sunset Handicap denied Greinton a $1,000,000 bonus offered by Hollywood Park for winning the Californian, Hollywood Gold Cup and today's closing feature.

The Kings will go for their third straight victory tonight when they open a two-game trip against the New York Islanders at the Nassau Coliseum (6 p.m. KGIL, KWVE-FM). Center Brent Sutter, the Islanders' second-leading scorer with with 101 points, is expected to miss the game with a shoulder injury. Sutter was injured when he was checked by Larry Murphy and Peter Anderson of the Washington Capitals in the second period of a 6-4 win Saturday night.
