Canyon 27, Burroughs 24--Chris Escobar's four-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter completed a comeback from a 24-7 deficit for the Cowboys at Burroughs. The Indians (3-5, 0-3) had a chance to tie, but freshman kicker Mike Perez missed a 29-yard field goal attempt with four seconds to play. Burroughs opened the game with a 41-yard kickoff return by Mike Holmes to set up a two-play, 45-yard drive that ended with a 25-yard touchdown run by Mike Jara.

If all went as planned--and flying during the holidays usually means delays--Kyle Cremarosa arrived at LAX on Tuesday night from Providence, R.I., woke up this morning at his Burbank home and headed to Disneyland with his girlfriend. Of course, before boarding his plane he had to turn in 10-page papers for his philosophy and expository writing classes at Harvard University. During Thanksgiving, he put off writing a paper and made it to the airport three minutes before a flight home.

There was one major difference between the teams in the third annual Valley Youth Conference East-West All-Star Classic. The East had quarterback Kyle Boller of Hart High and the West didn't. Boller, a prep All-American bound for California, completed 17 of 23 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns to carry the East to a 34-20 victory Saturday night before about 4,500 at Cal State Northridge.

Burroughs 35, Burbank 6--The Indians (8-2, 4-1) scored on their first three possessions and coasted against their cross-town rivals at Burroughs. J.K. Scott completed 16 of 29 passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns, including scoring passes of 18 yards to Kyle Cremarosa in the first quarter and eight yards to Glenn Adriatico in the second quarter. Scott also connected with Cremarosa on a four-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.

Burroughs 47, Glendale 13--Burroughs broke open a one-point game by scoring 33 unanswered points in the second half. The Burroughs defense scored four touchdowns--three on interception returns and one on a fumble return--and held Glendale (1-3) to 91 yards passing. For Burroughs (3-1), Brian Criscuolo caught touchdown passes of seven yards from J.K. Scott and 25 yards from Kyle Cremarosa. Scott completed 10 of 17 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns.

Burroughs 33, Glendale 7--The Indians (2-2) scored for 20 unanswered points in the second quarter at Burroughs. Kyle Cremarosa caught two touchdown passes from Joe Kroells, and scored on a 60-yard interception return. Kroells completed 15 of 23 passes for 208 yards, and Cremarosa finished with 119 yards in four receptions.

Burroughs 37, Glendale 7--After going the first three games without a touchdown reception, Glenn Adriatico erupted for two for Burroughs (3-1) at Glendale. Adriatico, a senior who had 85 catches last season, caught scoring passes of 15 yards in the first quarter and 22 yards in the third quarter, his only receptions of the game. Defensive back Kyle Cremarosa returned interceptions for touchdowns of 18 and 70 yards in the first half as Burroughs built a 30-0 halftime lead.

Drew Welch rushed for 69 yards and four touchdowns in 10 carries to help Canyon High defeat Burroughs, 33-21, in a Foothill League game Friday night at Canyon. Welch scored on three two-yard runs and added a game-clinching 30-yard touchdown run with 3:44 to play. Matt Gregory gained 120 yards in 22 carries for Canyon (4-3, 1-1 in league play). Gregory has rushed for 100 yards in five games this season.
