For the second consecutive week, Hart's playoff game will be televised on Fox Sports West 2. Friday's 7 p.m. Division III final against Mira Costa at College of the Canyons is Fox's game of the week. Kyle Matter could become the winningest quarterback in Hart history. He has a 25-2 record as a starter. Steve McKeon was 25-3 from 1994-95.

John Sciarra, an All-Southern Section quarterback from St. Francis High who completed 60.5% of his passes last season, said Thursday he has committed to UCLA. Sciarra's father, John, was the quarterback when UCLA defeated Ohio State in the 1976 Rose Bowl. The 6-foot-2 Sciarra passed for 2,861 yards and 28 touchdowns last season. He was highly recommended to the Bruins by his new coach, Jim Bonds, who played quarterback at UCLA.

Hart 48, Thousand Oaks 7--Kyle Matter passed for 306 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Indians at Thousand Oaks. Matter, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound junior, completed 21 of 33 passes. He threw touchdowns passes of 23 and four yards in the first half to Chris Ciccone, giving Hart (2-0) a 27-0 lead. Matter threw third-quarter touchdown passes of 15 and 24 yards to Jared Bazar, extending the lead to 41-0. Matter did not play in the fourth quarter.

Hart 56, Burbank 7--Kyle Matter completed 17 of 19 passes for 302 yards and six touchdowns to help the Indians (9-0, 4-0) win their 43rd consecutive league game at Burroughs High. Matter was in for only one play in the second half, hitting Jared Bazar on an 81-yard scoring pass play. Matter led scoring drives of one, six, two, seven and two plays in the first half to help Hart to a 35-0 lead. Bazar finished with six catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Tim Gregory scored four touchdowns.

Kyle Matter SCHOOL: Hart YEAR: Senior SPORT: Football SEASON AT A GLANCE: It's been a good year. Matter signed with Stanford, set career records at Hart for passing yards (7,528) and touchdowns (81) and became the first quarterback to lead the Indians to two section titles. He finished his senior season with 3,754 yards and 33 touchdown passes. WEEK AT A GLANCE: Matter was almost perfect in a 34-11 victory over Mira Costa in the Southern Section Division III final.
