Lamar Odom appears to be done playing for the Dallas Mavericks. According to multiple sources, the former two-time NBA champion with the Lakers will not play the rest of the season for the Mavericks, although he will not be waived by the team. Odom informed of the arrangement, which has been confirmed by various sources close to the Mavericks but hasn't been officially announced by the team. "The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it's in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team," Odom said in a statement to "I'm sorry that things didn't work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs' organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship.

Former NBA player Lamar Odom pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a DUI charge stemming from his August arrest on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley, the Los Angeles city attorney's office said.   Richard Hutton, Odom's lawyer, entered the plea on Odom's behalf at the Van Nuys courthouse, said city attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan. Odom, a former Laker and Clipper forward, was arrested Aug. 30 after he was spotted allegedly driving erratically on the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

While the Clippers closed in on acquiring Lamar Odom from the Dallas Mavericks in a deal for Mo Williams, they concluded Thursday night by making Turkish power forward Furkan Aldemir their second-round pick, and 53rd overall, in the NBA draft. Odom was the bigger story, and he would be the centerpiece in a proposed three-team trade that could be completed as early as Friday. If the trade goes ahead, Odom would come to the Clippers, Williams would go to the Jazz and Utah would send Dallas a trade exception, according to Clippers officials who were not authorized to speak publicly about the negotiations.
