The PGA of America announced Wednesday that Riviera Country Club has been selected as the host course for the 1995 PGA Championship. PGA Executive Director Jim Awtrey also announced that Inverness, in Toledo, Ohio, will be the site of the 1993 tournament. Oak Tree, in Edmond, Okla., has been released from its commitment to stage the 1994 event. A replacement site will be announced in the next few weeks, Awtrey said. Awtrey said Landmark Corp.

Groos, a resident of San Clemente, previously was sales manager of the loan division at Landmark Bank and mortgage development officer at Westlands Bank. A group of Chicago investors led by Harris Associates L.P. has increased its stake in Petaluma, Calif.-based Northbay Financial Corp. to 5% from 1.3%, according to an SEC filing.

The single-screen Port Theatre would be expanded into a triplex and get a face lift under plans filed by its owner with the city of Newport Beach. The Landmark Theatre Corp. intends to refurbish the 925-seat Port and split its spacious balcony area into two 100-seat theaters, while leaving its first-floor seating configuration much the same, said Christie Teague, an associate city planner. The reconstruction would eliminate about 100 seats from the balcony area only, Teague said.

The Last Picture Show: The Balboa Cinema in Newport Beach, one of Orange County's few outlets for foreign and art films and home to midnight showings of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," will close its doors Dec. 1. A spokesman for Hollywood-based Landmark Theatre Corp., which has operated the theater since 1979, said the company's lease on the site is ending and the theater's owners "wanted more rent than we can pay" to renew it.
