General Automation Inc., a computer-systems integrator and distribution and services provider, reported that net income for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30 declined 65% to $502,000, or 6 cents a share, from $1.4 million, or 18 cents a share, for the prior year. The company said earnings were affected by expenses related to the acquisition and consolidation of Liberty Integration Software and Sequoia Enterprise Business Systems. Revenue increased 44% to $36.8 million from $25.5 million.

Irvine-based General Automation Inc. said Wednesday that one of its subsidiaries will provide database tools to Reynolds & Reynolds Co. in a deal worth more than $5 million over the next two years. General Automation, which has struggled over the last year, said database access systems from its Liberty Integration Software subsidiary will be integrated into the information management systems that Reynolds sells to automobile dealers.
