Little Saigon was built by Vietnamese American business people and merchants starting in the mid-1970s from vacant agricultural land and aging strip malls along Bolsa Avenue in Westminster. Now the district is on its way to becoming a major tourist spot with more than 2,000 shops, restaurants, cafes, jewelry stores and offices. The business district stretches for 1 1/2 miles on Bolsa Avenue between Ward and Magnolia streets.
