" "We have had union representatives on the set since last Friday and will continue to monitor the hours and working conditions there," said Mike Miller, motion picture and television director for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, which represents technical workers on films and TV...

Lindsay Lohan was going to play Elizabeth Taylor no matter what. She said as much Friday on "Good Morning America," where she was promoting "Liz & Dick," her new TV movie that'll air Nov. 25 on Lifetime. "I had seen that they were going to be making a movie and I got the producer's number and started harassing [him]. I didn't even care if my agents were going to do it or not, I just did it myself too. Because, I was like, 'No one else is going to play this role, I have to do this.'" There are parallels between Lohan and Taylor, who also was a child star and the focus of relentless media attention.

Lindsay Lohan now has a literary agent, according to TMZ . And where a literary agent with celebrity clients goes, book deals tend to follow. Lohan's meeting with Waxman Leavell was filmed for her reality series on OWN. The agency has represented Michael Phelps, "Survivor's" Mark Burnett and Cheryl Burke from "Dancing With the Stars. " Lohan's story has the potential to be a big seller. The starlet's public troubles began in 2007, when she was arrested for driving under the influence and possession of cocaine.

"Liz & Dick," the Lifetime film about legendary Hollywood couple Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton starring troubled actress Lindsay Lohan, scored respectable ratings in its Sunday premiere, attracting 3.5 million viewers. However, since "Liz & Dick" was one of the most heavily promoted TV films of the year - and given the mass of publicity surrounding the concept of "Lindsay as Liz" in the past several weeks - Lifetime executives have to be disappointed that the movie did not draw a larger audience.

Lindsay Lohan may not be able to leave the tabloid headlines behind her (she's currently in trouble for an alleged hit-and-run incident in New York City), but the newly released teaser trailer for her upcoming Lifetime movie, "Liz & Dick," is enough to remind people that she was once mainly known for her acting talent. The TV film stars Lohan as Liz Taylor and Grant Bowler as Richard Burton and chronicles the two performers' tempestuous love affair, which began on the set of "Cleopatra.

An epic love story, like a good horror movie, relies more on possibility than actuality. Surprise and anticipation, of what is to come and what it might mean, are what draw viewers in, binding them in fetters of pleasure and pain. Subtlety and nuance create the space between word and glance, between shadow and revelation, where imagination digs in and magnificence blooms. None of which happens, in any way, shape or form, during Lifetime's television event "Liz & Dick," a wildly graceless biopic that careens through the decades-long relationship between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton with more petulance than passion, knocking down gin bottles and rumpling silk sheets for no better reason than that's what it says to do in the script.

Larry A. Thompson has long been fascinated with celebrity couples who "fly so close to the sun. " Sonny and Cher, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor are duos featured in several television movies developed by the veteran producer. For years, he's wanted to create a movie around one of Hollywood's most famous and scandalous couples, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. He contends - and who could argue? - that the volcanic emotions fueling the courtship, marriages and breakups of the on- and off-screen couple gave birth to the obsessive celebrity culture that blossomed into the tsunami of today's tabloids, paparazzi and gossip websites: "They were the first Brangelina.

On Monday, “Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence sat down for a chat with Jay Leno to discuss, among other things, her role in “Silver Linings Playbook” - a performance that's already generating Oscar buzz.  Throughout the interview, she did the whole charmingly-unscripted-goofball-trapped-in-the-body-of-an-Amazon thing she's known for , telling Leno how she caused a fender bender because she thought she saw Honey Boo Boo on the street and apologizing for her previous, over-caffeinated visit to the show.

Her name is Lindsay and she is a chaos addict. That was the No. 1 takeaway from Lindsay Lohan's amply hyped interview with Oprah Winfrey, a “television event” broadcast on the talk show doyenne's Oprah Winfrey Network program “Oprah's Next Chapter” in back-to-back airings Sunday night. Over the course of their revealing yet somehow bloodless one-hour conversation -- taped just four days after Lohan was released from three months of court-mandated rehab at the Cliffside Malibu clinic -- Hollywood's reigning celebrity train wreck made repeated reference to the “chaos” that has governed her life: her “chaotic” upbringing, her “uncontrollable” family life and the “whirlwind of garbage” Lohan created for herself by courting high drama seemingly at every turn.

Lindsay Lohan, who has until May to prove she's enrolled in rehab, will be under very tight restrictions during her stay. L.A. County Superior Court Judge James Dabney, who on Monday sentenced the actress to serve a 90-day stint in a drug rehabilitation facility, directed her not to leave the facility for any reason and said there would be no passes of any kind that allow her to leave the grounds. The facility does not have to be locked, but the judge made clear she would violate her probation if she left at any time.

The "Mean Girls" star must also spend 18 months in therapy and serve 30 days of community service as part of the agreement, in which she pleaded no contest to misdemeanor reckless driving and providing false information to police. Michael Lohan and fiancee Kate Major welcomed a baby boy Wednesday morning in Florida, shortly after the new papa's oldest child, Lindsay Lohan, left court in Los Angeles. The baby boy, Landon Major Lohan, was born at 11:39 a.m. PST, weighed in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 19 ¾ inches long, according to TMZ , which said Michael Lohan cut the umbilical cord. So that makes a half-brother for Lindsay, who also has a sister, two brothers and a half-sister. At least she'll know about this half-sibling before the kid can, you know, drive . Not like last time . PHOTOS: Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor in 'Liz & Dick' As for Lilo, court was rather uneventful, though she did create a bit of drama ahead of time by attempting to skip attendance with the help of a note from her doctor claiming an upper respiratory infection that made it unwise for her to fly. At the last minute she felt well enough to travel, said her new attorney, Mark Heller, who replaces Shawn Chapman Holley, travels with a rabbit's foot on his briefcase and told the assembled media after the hearing that: "Justice always has to be tempered with mercy, and jail is not always the answer.

Lindsay Lohan had a not guilty plea entered on her behalf Tuesday morning in a Los Angeles courtroom.  But like all things Lindsay, it wasn't that simple. Lohan is, of course, facing three misdemeanor counts of lying to police, reckless driving and obstructing police from performing their duties, stemming from a car-versus-truck collision on Pacific Coast Highway last June. Though she told police she wasn't driving the Porsche at the time, police say they have evidence to the contrary.
