Steve Bolton has resigned as football coach at Los Amigos High School and has been replaced by Roger Takahashi, Athletic Director Dave Auxier said Tuesday. Bolton coached the Lobos the last three seasons and had a record of 16-15-2. After a winless first season, he led Los Amigos to the playoffs the last two seasons. He resigned because of personal reasons. Takahashi has been an assistant for the Lobos the last two seasons. He was the head coach at La Quinta and had a record of 40-27.

After 28 consecutive years, Roger Takahashi is taking a break from coaching. On Wednesday, Takahashi told his Los Amigos football team that he is stepping down. In five seasons, Takahashi, 46, led the Lobos to a 40-15-1 record and five playoff appearances. This season, Los Amigos went 7-4 and shared the Garden Grove League title with Pacifica. "I'm a little tired right now," Takahashi said. "Los Amigos is a high-maintenance place. I just don't have the time to keep it up.
For all the world, Pacifica looked liked it was destined to beat Los Amigos again. It wasn't outplaying Los Amigos, but the Mariners were getting the bounces, the big plays and they appeared to have the momentum. When Los Amigos running back Najja Kee fumbled midway through the third quarter deep in Pacifica territory, the Lobos had every reason to call it a night.

A laptop computer containing more than 660 patient names and diagnostic information was stolen last month from Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey, Los Angeles County health officials confirmed Friday. Each week for 27 years, members of Los Amigos of Orange County have met to share stories, collect money for those in need and dabble in local politics. It's a loose-knit kaffeeklatsch led by the 74-year-old owner of two plumbing and building materials companies who ends each meeting in a prayer circle.
