Federal authorities have dropped an investigation into the possible misuse of disaster relief funds set aside for earthquake repairs at Cal State Northridge. Cal State Dominguez Hills was awarded a $100,000 grant from Edison International to renovate its Theatre Arts Department. The money will be used to convert a classroom and rehearsal space into a performance studio, university spokesman Rick Gloady said. The grant was funded through Edison's Arts for the Community Program, which was created last fall to foster the arts in lower-income communities.
