More parking lots and higher fees in most of the established private garages reflect the surge in travel this year. But parking lots within LAX's Central Terminal (which has about 25,000 spaces) haven't raised their rates, according to LAX spokesman Tom Winfrey. The Department of Airports runs long-term parking lots B (about 6,000 spaces) and C (about 8,000). Both are patrolled by airport police, and shuttles run at 10- to 20-minute intervals day and night.
