"It's harder than anyone thinks for guys to actually be sexy. " Channing Tatum (No. 50 on Empire magazine's list of 100 Sexiest Movie Stars) was on the back patio at Cinema Bar in Culver City, commiserating with Matthew McConaughey (People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2005) and Joe Manganiello (No. 1 on Men's Health magazine's best Summer Bodies of 2011). Although a heady cloud of easy charm and testosterone was forming spontaneously above the picnic table, slowly expanding and intoxicating any females in proximity, Tatum elicited enthusiastic nods from his fellow actors as he explained just how much work it takes for guys like them to be sexy - especially when they're nearly naked.

As Vegas has discovered that female tourists have money to blow on skin shows, too, a crop of male stripper revues have popped up in some unlikely places, e.g., the Hooters Casino! More have come and gone, but right now there are four: American Storm at Planet Hollywood, Chippendales at Rio, Men of X at Hooters and Thunder From Down Under at Excalibur. Unlike the eight shows centering around topless women, however, the production variety on the guy side is limited. Each of these serve up buff guys of varying races and backgrounds -- although almost universally with smooth chests -- appearing in predictable situations, from the studly firefighter to the randy executive.

Does Singer have a clause written into his contracts that he can only perform naked from the waist up? His screen presence always seems to be sans chemise. Wendy Schramm Vista Hey, Wendy, you forgot to mention the 1981 TV movie "For Ladies Only," in which Singer played a male stripper.

David Hernandez won't be stripped of his chance to compete on "American Idol." A person close to the show, who is not authorized to comment publicly and asked not to be identified, said there were no plans to remove Hernandez from the Fox singing competition -- despite the semifinalist's past as a male stripper.
