The store was Giorgio Beverly Hills, and it featured a yellow-and-white-striped awning outside and a reading room, pool table and oak bar inside -- along with, of course, a jaw-dropping array of designer duds sought after by Beverly Hills mavens and Hollywood A-listers. In a nod to his erstwhile boutique's glory days, Fred Hayman (a.

Mickey Mouse and I don't usually see eye to eye, but on the issue of copyright protection, the rodent and his handlers have it right ("The Cultural Anarchist vs. the Hollywood Police State," by David Streitfeld, Sept. 22). Why should copyright be the only property right that is time-limited? We don't require that Bill Gates surrender his fortune to the public domain or that David Geffen deed his Malibu beach house to us. Why should the heirs not inherit the rich guys' stuff? As much as real estate is about location, location, location, selling it is about timing and pricing. Former Dodgers shortstop Rafael Furcal has been trying to sell his home on a golf course in La Canada Flintridge since late 2010. Listed then for $4,449,000, the house reappeared on the Multiple Listing Service priced at $3.8 million just as news of Magic Johnson and company's purchase of the Dodgers broke. Listing agent Susan Mohr of Sotheby's International Realty said she had been working to get the listing ready for about a month.
