The Denver Broncos traded wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins for a second-round pick in next week's draft and a second-rounder in 2011. Marshall is expected to sign a long-term contract that he's been seeking for over a year. Marshall has long wanted out of Denver, and got his wish when the Broncos pulled off their second blockbuster deal in as many seasons under Coach Josh McDaniels . Denver sent quarterback Jay Cutler to Chicago last April for Kyle Orton and draft picks.

The Arizona Cardinals have come to terms on a two-year contract with free agent quarterback Derek Anderson. The one-time Pro Bowl quarterback comes to Arizona as the Cardinals look for someone to compete with Matt Leinart, the only quarterback the team has under contract after Kurt Warner's retirement. Anderson was released by Cleveland on March 9, ending an uneven five-year stint with the Browns. Anderson made the Pro Bowl in 2007 when he threw 29 touchdown passes and led the club to a 10-6 record.

Lorenzo Bromell isn't likely to forget the hit -- and not only because it drew a hefty fine from the NFL. Peyton Manning won't soon forget it either. The collision came in 2001, when Manning was in his fourth season as quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts, and Bromell was a defensive lineman for the Miami Dolphins. Manning wound up with a hairline fracture of the jaw, and the now-retired Bromell secured the dubious distinction of being the only player to knock Manning out of a game.

It's a tale of two old foes, and two young quarterbacks. Tonight's game between the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, among the NFL's more bitter division rivals, marks the "Monday Night Football" debut of the Jets' Mark Sanchez and the Dolphins' Chad Henne. Both players have something to prove. Sanchez, who looked sharp in his first three games, is coming off a four-turnover performance in a loss at New Orleans. How will he bounce back? In the wake of the Jets' first defeat of the season, Sanchez told reporters he needs to do a better job of keeping his emotions in check.

LaDainian Tomlinson has been ruled out of the San Diego Chargers' home game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the second straight game he will miss because of a sprained right ankle. Tomlinson was hurt in a season-opening win at Oakland and missed last Sunday's home-opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens. "I don't have a comment about it. It is what it is," said Tomlinson, who added that he thinks it's getting better. After going eight regular seasons without missing a game because of injury, Tomlinson will have missed three of the Chargers' last four games.

Monte Clark, a former USC lineman who played in the National Football League and coached the Detroit Lions for seven years, leading them to the playoffs in 1982 and 1983, has died. He was 72. He died Wednesday at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, the team announced. He had a bone marrow malignancy associated with lung and liver disease. Clark was the offensive line coach for the Miami Dolphins team that went 17-0 in 1972. He became the Lions' coach in 1978. "Monte will always be remembered as a consummate football man," Lions President Tom Lewand said.

Jason Taylor's newest step has him back where he started. The dancing linebacker signed a $1.5-million, one-year contract Wednesday with the Miami Dolphins. Taylor played his first 11 seasons with Miami before being traded a year ago to the Washington Redskins -- a fallout from his stint on the TV show "Dancing With the Stars." He was released by Washington in March after one injury-plagued season.
