Poor Kate Upton. Can't a bikini-clad bombshell dance the "cat daddy" in peace?  The answer would appear to be no, judging by this week's controversy over a steamy shoot with fashion photographer Terry Richardson that had Upton taking a break from posing to show off her cat daddy skills. In a video posted  Monday to Richardson's blog Terry's Diary, Upton, on a break between shots, performs the cat daddy, a dance move made popular by the group the Rej3ctz and Chris Brown.

For those of us up late at night concerned about Halle Berry's high-risk pregnancy at age 46, fear not. It appears that the pregnancy, at the very least, will not affect her role in the upcoming "X-Men" film. As if that makes anything any better. Director Bryan Singer teased fans with Berry's return to the franchise in a tweeted photo of the Oscar-winning actress smiling in her all-black costume. Berry confirmed her appearance in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" on "The Tonight Show" in March, and she'll reprise her role as the weather-manipulating mutant Storm.

We live in an open-ended era with question marks hovering over our lives. So maybe it isn't surprising that a quartet of current movies conclude ambiguously, leaving their characters' fates not on the screen but in the minds of the audience. We spoke recently to the filmmakers in question about their cryptic conclusions. Needless to say, if you haven't seen the movies (and, really, why haven't you?), you'll probably want to tuck this away until you've first formed your own conclusions.

"It was more nerve-wracking than the nudity. " Thus speaks Carey Mulligan about what she calls her toughest scene in "Shame," playing Sissy, the emotionally extroverted sister of repressed Manhattan sex addict Brandon Sullivan (Michael Fassbender). Mulligan first appears in Steve McQueen's psychological drama completely starkers, having barged unannounced into her sibling's apartment, where Brandon encounters her taking a shower. "It's funny because I've never been comfortable with the idea of nudity before and have never done it," Mulligan says.

Matthias Schoenaerts broke through with art house audiences with the Belgian film "Bullhead," nominated earlier this year for an Academy Award for foreign-language film, playing a man still haunted by the traumas of his childhood. In the new "Rust and Bone," he again turns in a muscular, physical performance, but this time as a man more actively working to move forward with his life. Costarring with Marion Cotillard, Schoenaerts has garnered acclaim for his work in the film, including comparisons to Marlon Brando and Michael Fassbender.

It's been one year since Gina Carano fired a gun, but you wouldn't know it watching her shoot one. The former mixed martial arts champion, who will make her feature film debut in the Steven Soderbergh action movie "Haywire," is engaged in lively target practice with Aaron Cohen, an ex-Israeli special ops fighter who served as her tactical training coach on the film. Everything from Carano's crouched stance to the steely glint in her dark-brown eyes suggests that firing 9-millimeter pistols at close range is second nature to this 29-year-old extreme athlete.
