Three female members of the Mission Viejo Country Club have filed a lawsuit alleging that the club discriminates against women by making it difficult for them to golf with their female friends. The lawsuit also says that the club illegally bars women from eating at a male-only luxury lounge. "There is absolutely no reason for it," said Michelle A. City information systems director Maureen Tighe is seeking more than $500,000 in her ongoing sexual harassment complaint against Police Chief James Cook and the city, according to court papers filed Tuesday. Tighe's lawsuit, filed in federal court, alleges that Cook sexually harassed her at work after they ended a seven-year relationship in 1995.

The Anti-Defamation League has honored two Orange County attorneys, Donald S. Gray and Michelle A. Reinglass, with Jurisprudence Awards for their human rights contributions. Gray is vice president, general counsel and secretary of Toshiba America Information Systems, and Reinglass has a private law practice in Orange County.

The popular Angelo's Hamburgers has filed a $10-million claim against the City of Anaheim to recoup losses the restaurant owners blamed on "malicious" persecution by the city when it sued Angelo's over having outdoor tables and chairs. Earlier this summer, a jury handed Angelo's a victory when it decided that the restaurant was not violating zoning laws requiring a special permit for an outdoor patio.
