You’re going to meet someone who was born in 1968, and he’s going to be the love of your life. If you [mess] it up, you’re never going to get a second chance.” That bold prediction was made by a self-professed psychic Michelle Lee encountered two years ago at a cocktail party. A few minutes later, Lee, who was born in 1981, struck up a conversation with a handsome stranger named Brian Gilbert. She told him what the psychic had said. “No way am I going to date a man that old,” she added.

UCLA Live recently canceled its well-regarded international theater festival, but Calabasas would like to point out that UCLA didn't have a lock on that concept. The city near the southwestern San Fernando Valley is holding its second annual California International Theatre Festival from July 17 to 25. The visiting companies aren't of the same stature as those that UCLA attracted, but they are diverse. The Orto-Da Theatre Group of Israel will perform its work "Stones," Theatre Newfoundland Labrador of Canada presents "Tempting Providence" by Robert Chafe, and Conor Lovett of Gare St Lazare Players Ireland will perform an adaptation of the Samuel Beckett short story "The End."

For the most part, My Favorite Weekend is a big snore. Could these celebrities possibly be more mundane in their taste? If one took all the references to chain restaurants and stores, one could reconstitute an entire mall. However, every so often you score. For instance, Belinda Carlisle's weekend had nothing cookie-cutter about it. And this week Michelle Lee saves us. Ranch 99, Rage and MacArthur Park too! Though it would have been nice if the opening paragraph had included some of the fabulous Asian movies she has been a part of. Her career is not beginning with "Pirates of the Caribbean."

The FBI said it is seeking public help in nabbing two armed robbers believed to have held up 42 Southern California banks since May. One, dubbed the "Big Brush Bandit" for his thick, drooping mustache, has fired into a ceiling and, in one case, shot at a teller, but the handgun misfired, said Jim Neilson, an FBI spokesman. The gunman is believed to have held up 19 banks throughout the Los Angeles area--the last on Nov. 1, Neilson said.
