Defense Department identification of U.S. military personnel who died in Afghanistan: Billy A. Sutton, 42, of Tupelo, Miss.; sergeant first class, Army National Guard. Sutton died Tuesday of an undisclosed medical condition not related to combat while serving in southern Afghanistan's Oruzgan province, southwest of Kabul. He was assigned to the 223rd Engineer Battalion, 168th Engineer Brigade in West Point, Miss. Sources: Department of Defense, Associated Press

Defense Department identification of U.S. military personnel who died in Afghanistan, Bahrain and Djibouti: Cesar Cortez, 24, of Oceanside; private first class, Army. Cortez was killed Feb. 11 in a noncombat-related vehicle accident in Bahrain — an archipelago of 36 islands off the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia — where he was serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command at Ft. Bliss, Texas.
