A 37-year-old woman suffered serious head and facial injuries after losing control of her motorcycle and crashing at a street intersection, police reported Monday. Officers said Karen Tierney of Santa Ana was riding on Main Street near Beach Boulevard about 5:30 p.m. Sunday when the accident occurred. Police said Tierney was making a right turn onto Beach when she lost control of her 1976 Harley Davidson and struck a center divider. The vehicle then struck a van that was eastbound on Beach.

A motorcyclist was in extremely critical condition Wednesday after striking the side of a car that had pulled out of a parking lot in front of him, police said. The unidentified victim, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered severe head and internal injuries in the 7 p.m. accident near the intersection of Warner Avenue and Springdale Street. He was flown by helicopter to UCI Medical Center in Orange.

A 27-year-old man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided at 10:59 a.m. Sunday with a car exiting from a restaurant parking lot, police said. The motorcyclist was from Anaheim, but his name was not released pending notification of relatives. The victim was traveling south on Placentia Avenue, just past Nutwood Avenue, when a car pulled out of the Spoons Restaurant parking lot, Police Sgt. Jay Fricke said. Police said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

A Santa Ana motorcyclist was in critical condition Tuesday after he struck a car that was turning left at Santa Clara Avenue and Raitt Street, police said. Casey Allen Shanahan, 32, was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana after the Monday night crash. He is in intensive care and on life-support machines, a police spokesman said. Shanahan's 8-year-old son, who was riding on the back of the motorcycle and wearing a helmet, was uninjured, police said.

Police have identified a 56-year year-old motorcyclist who was killed when he and a female passenger crashed into the back of a pickup truck, police said. The crash left the passenger in a coma in a hospital's intensive care unit. Police said Donald Joseph Puzio of Huntington Beach was heading south on Beach Boulevard near Ellis Avenue about 6 p.m. Friday when his motorcycle rammed into the back of a Nissan pickup delivering pizza.

Police are looking for the driver of a car that may have been involved in a motorcycle crash that killed a 21-year-old man last week. Ruben Serrano of Anaheim died Friday from injuries suffered when his motorcycle struck a center divider at Yorba Linda Boulevard and Linda Vista Street at 3:55 p.m., Placentia Police Sgt. Jay Fricke said. Serrano was not wearing a helmet. A witness told police a white car was driving alongside Serrano's motorcycle.

A motorcyclist was killed on a curving canyon road when he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a car, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday. Randal Ross, 25, of Riverside was fatally injured when he was thrown from his motorcycle about 4:40 p.m. Saturday, CHP dispatcher Joe David said. Ross, who was wearing a helmet, was traveling about 50 m.p.h. on Modjeska Grade Road, east of Santiago Canyon Road, in the hilly area north of O'Neil Regional Park.

A young man was killed Sunday evening when he lost control of his motorcycle and skidded into a curb, police said. Officials did not identify the victim or give details of the accident, which occurred about 7 p.m. in the 1600 block of Harbor Boulevard. The victim, said to be in his 20s, was not wearing a helmet, police said.

A postal worker was killed Tuesday when his motorcycle crashed on a street here, police said. Dennis Wayne Hill, 32, of Santa Ana apparently lost control of the motorcycle about 7:15 a.m. as he rode west in the 3400 block of West MacArthur Boulevard, police spokeswoman Maureen Thomas said. Witnesses told police that Hill appeared to be riding faster than the speed limit when his motorcycle jumped the curb, clipped a utility pole and crashed into a mailbox.
